Route WB6

This three-year project, funded by the Norwegian Government and implemented from January 2019 to December 2021, was carried out across the Western Balkans 6 by a consortium led by the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) together with partner organizations, including Lens in Kosovo.

The overall objective of the Route WB6 project was to position young people as drivers of reconciliation and societal reconstruction by enabling them to embrace European values, foster intercultural dialogue, and promote regional cooperation for socio-economic and democratic development. In Kosovo, Lens played a crucial role in working with national institutions to promote volunteering, advance reforms in volunteering legislation, and ensure the development of supportive frameworks for youth engagement. It also tested and applied practical models for implementing volunteering programs, contributing to both policy-level improvements and grassroots participation.

Through these efforts, the project strengthened volunteering policy reform, supported the establishment of a Regional Volunteer Service and the ROUTE WB6 program, and expanded opportunities for cross-border youth volunteering as a pathway to peacebuilding and reconciliation.
